Ash Trees – Emerald Ash aren’t their only predators

Brownheaded ash sawflies are another threat to ash trees this year. They haven’t been active for a few years but they seem to be back in some trees that are prone to sawflies. Give us a call if you see a bunch of holes in your leaves. They are the larvae eating off the foliage of the ash trees. We are able to spray an insecticide to safely remove the sawflies and discontinue the damage they bring on.

Here is a link to K-State’s website for more about the sawfly findings: https://blogs.k-state.edu/kansasbugs/2015/04/24/and-still-talking-about-ash-trees-brownheaded-ash-sawflies/¬†.
