Turf Maintenance
Round 1

Granular Fertilizer & Pre-Emergent
Provides essential nutrients designed to wake the grass plant and slowly feed it through spring. There is also a pre-emergent herbicide which is the first stage to grassy weed control.

If you are interested in starting your personalized turf health plan please give us a call.

Plant Health Care
This application is a dormant oil to be applied in February/March. This is applied to Evergreens (except Blue Spruce/Junipers), Magnolia, Euonymus, Burning Bush, Boxwoods, Yews, Hollies, Crabapple, etc.

This will target pests that overwinter in the bark or trunks. These include Scale, Aphids, White Flies, and Disease Spores.

Mowing Service
If you’re interested in mowing services for 2023 please contact the office at (913) 829-6135 to discuss your needs and pricing.

February 5th Snowfall

Today’s storm once again has the weather people heading in several directions. I decided to control our streets and commercial properties with an early morning salt application to allow for safe morning rush travel. Once the precipitation turned over from rain to sleet we began salt applications and had all surfaces treated by 6:30 am.

The consensus forecast is for a heavy snow band to move through the metro in the next few hours leaving anywhere from 1-3” by noon. Light snow showers will continue until late afternoon or early evening. I plan on monitoring the snowfall and waiting out the heavy accumulation. Once we see the back end of the storm we will begin removal of snow on the streets (and commercial main drives if it is prior to 4:00pm.) If accumulation requirements are met, we will next immediately begin removal of snow on residential properties and should have those addressed during the evening hours and overnight.
