February 5th Snowfall

Today’s storm once again has the weather people heading in several directions. I decided to control our streets and commercial properties with an early morning salt application to allow for safe morning rush travel. Once the precipitation turned over from rain to sleet we began salt applications and had all surfaces treated by 6:30 am.

The consensus forecast is for a heavy snow band to move through the metro in the next few hours leaving anywhere from 1-3” by noon. Light snow showers will continue until late afternoon or early evening. I plan on monitoring the snowfall and waiting out the heavy accumulation. Once we see the back end of the storm we will begin removal of snow on the streets (and commercial main drives if it is prior to 4:00pm.) If accumulation requirements are met, we will next immediately begin removal of snow on residential properties and should have those addressed during the evening hours and overnight.
